The process for approval of SCOR working groups is competitive, making it important for proponents of new groups to carefully follow the instructions shown below.
A call for Working Group proposals is released annually with a due date in May. 2024 proposals are due 17 May.

Instructions for Preparing Proposals REVISED February 2024
2024 revisions to the instructions include: inclusion of example activities of a SCOR Working Group under “Ideal Proposal,” relocation of the “Deliverables” section of the proposal template to directly follow “Terms of Reference,” invitation to include a rationale for the membership composition and balance, and inclusion of an early-career scientist identification column in the membership tables.
