National SCOR Committees pay one of five levels of dues, and may be covered by the national academy or royal society, a national agency, or an institution or a consortium of institutions. The dues level is selected by the committee, with committees in countries with higher levels of ocean science activity usually paying a higher level of dues.
Nations applying for membership must decide on their membership category and associated dues level, and may increase or decrease their membership category over time.
Dues increases for two years hence are proposed by the ad hoc finance committee as a recommendation at the annual meeting.
SCOR’s accounts are audited annually, in accordance with regulations of the U.S. government. Audit reports are available upon request. SCOR financial information is available through GuideStar.
