Marie-Alexandrine Sicre, Past SCOR President, and Vice-chair of the Executive Council of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of UNESCO, was awarded the prize Emile Girardeau 2022 of the Académie de Marine, France, during a solemn ceremony under the presidency of Mr. Daniel Rondeau of the French Academy, at Ecole Militaire de Paris, on June 17, 2022.
The Emile Girardeau award is intended to reward or encourage work and research of a scientific nature, in its broadest sense.
