SOLAS welcomes nominations to its international Scientific Steering Committee (SSC) for a term beginning on 1st January 2022. SOLAS is looking for scientific excellence, high level of commitment to SOLAS goals but also seeks to achieve a balance of expertise, nationality, gender, and career stage across its SSC.
SOLAS is planning to appoint two new members this year. They are particularly seeking people with expertise in i) air-sea physical interaction, ii) numerical modeling, and iii) biogeochemical cycles of carbon, nitrogen, and sulfur. The scientific expertises should fit the SOLAS Core Themes 1 and 2, but they also welcome nominations in any SOLAS-relevant disciplines.
