Recipients of the 2020-2021 TOS honors

We are delighted to announce that Ed Urban, former Executive Director of SCOR has been honored as a Fellow of The Oceanography Society (TOS). Ed was made a Fellow based on the outstanding service and leadership that he has provided for several decades to the oceanographic community.
Along with Ed, Emmanuel Boss from the University of Maine and Dawn Wright from ESRI were also honored as Fellows of TOS this year. Emmanuel is currently the co-chair of Working Group #154 on Integration of Plankton-Observing Sensor Systems to Existing Global Sampling Programs (P-OBS), and a member of the Scientific Steering Group of the International Carbon Coordination Project (IOCCP). Dawn served as a Nominated Member for the SCOR US National Committee.
Claudia Benitez-Nelson from the University of South Carolina was honored the Mentoring Award. Claudia is the Chair of the Capacity Development Committee of SCOR.
