Marine Radioactivity Training Workshop 2026 (Oct 25-29, Xiamen) – Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research (SCOR)

The Marine Radioactivity Training Workshop 2026 will be held from October 25 to 29, 2026, at Xiamen University, Xiamen, China. This year’s workshop marks the 10th anniversary of the program. Originally developed during the Rio5 SCOR Working Group, the workshop has been held in Xiamen (China, 2016), Paris (France, 2017), Puerto Rico (USA, 2019), Joondalup (Australia, 2019), and Selangor Darul Ehsan (Malaysia, 2024).

The workshop is designed for university students, early-career researchers, and professionals who are interested in, or will pursue research and/or management positions that require knowledge of radioactivity and its application in ocean sciences. Participants will gain both theoretical knowledge and practical experience through lectures, laboratory activities, and field sampling exercises.

This workshop is organized by the State Key Laboratory of Marine Environmental Science at Xiamen University (MEL), the Center for Marine and Environmental Radioactivity of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (CMER), and the Fujian Ocean Innovation Center (Fujian-OI).
