The 2026 round of the IOCCG Trevor Platt Memorial Scholarship is now open for applications. The scholarship is established in memory of the late Trevor Platt, and aims to provide students and early career scientists from developing countries with travel funding to gain valuable training or experience in ocean colour remote sensing across all aquatic environments in another country.
The scholarship is awarded annually on a competitive basis to scholars that have identified an opportunity to conduct hands-on research OR receive in-depth training at a foreign institution (outside of the recipient’s home country) for up to 3 months (click here for full scholarship conditions). Scholars are also funded to present the outcome of their scholarship research or training at a relevant conference or science meeting, such as International Ocean Colour Science Meeting.
The deadline for applications is 12 November 2025. Awards will be announced in early 2026.
See the IOCCG website for all scholarship requirements and to apply.
