International Ocean Colour Science Meeting: Call for Poster Abstracts & Applications for Travel Support by 15 August 2025
Registration is now open for the 6th International Ocean Colour Science Meeting (IOCS-2025) Ocean Colour: serving Earth system science & our society. The IOCS is convened by IOCCG and the 2025 edition is hosted by EUMETSAT & ESA in Darmstadtium, Darmstadt, Germany, 1 – 4 December 2025. Several training sessions included with registration will be held in conjunction with IOCS-2025, hosted at EUMETSAT on 5 December 2025. Read more at iocs.ioccg.org.
The call for abstracts to present a poster at the meeting, and applications for travel support for early career scientists and scientists from developing nations is now open, and closes on 15 August 2025. Abstracts for posters are being accepted under the themes: carbon and climate, biodiversity, water quality, and other ocean colour research. Download and read the instructions to authors for poster abstract submission before creating your submission, and then submit your abstract before the deadline.
Applications for travel support are available during abstract submission. Registration is not required to submit an abstract, but will be required to attend the meeting if your abstract is accepted.

Multi-Sensor Satellite Ocean Colour Course, application deadline 15 August 2025
EUMETSAT in conjunction with IOCCG and as a complement to the IOCS-2025 Meeting will be hosting a no-cost 5-day training course on Multi-Sensor Satellite Ocean Colour. The course will be held after the IOCS meeting, on 7 – 11 December, hosted at EUMETSAT HQ in Darmstadt, Germany. It is an advanced level training course designed to support those already engaged in satellite ocean colour activities.
